"Conservation of Donati’s Works: A look inside the studio and inside the painting"

Cindy and Beth had a unique opportunity to explore the artist's studio and materials. Using optical microscopy for fiber and particulate characterization as well as a variety of examination techniques, we created in-depth technical reports on four of Donati's paintings.

Alliance for response new york city

Beth and Cindy have been working with the volunteer group Alliance for Response New York City for 4 years, and Beth has been cochair of the group since 2013. Along with a dedicated steering committee, we led the New York Community Trust grant project to train a local Heritage Response Team.

Piet Mondrian

Beginning in 2009 under a Samuel H. Kress Foundation grant, Cindy has been studying the paintings of Piet Mondrian. Collaborating with curators and conservators at other institutions as an assistant conservator at MoMA, she has looked at over 200 of his works.

Claes OldenBurg - Floor cake

Also while a conservation Fellow at MoMA, Cindy collaborated with conservator Margo Delidow of Whryta Conservation to examine, document, and treat an unconvential oil painting in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art: Claes Oldenburg's Floor Cake.
